NABA Greater Indianapolis Programs

High School
ACAP is a separate program developed by and operating under the NABA banner. ACAP is a one week residency program for high school students hosted. There is no charge to students due to the generosity of our corporate partners and member volunteer organizers. This one week program provides a tremendous benefit to local high school students interested in business careers of any type and includes full days of activity at technical sessions, on corporate visits, at personal development sessions and through evening networking and social experiences. College-Based Program

To prepare college students for a professional career through engagement, mentoring, personal development, exposure to the work place through internships, scholarships through our scholarship program and public speaking/presentation skills  through case competitions. These initiatives also aim at identifying and nurturing exceptional leaders in higher institutions. LEARN MORE

Partnership packages with NABA Greater Indianapolis gives you access to our  members in the area with opportunities for business development, recruiting, employee networking and diversity development. Career Development
NABA is an organization dedicated to improving the financial education among African-Americans in the Greater Indianapolis communities, by providing basic financial tools that allow individuals to establish realistic goals and reach them. Our annual NABA National Convention provides a forum for joining NABA's membership with the corporate community, academicians, and other individuals interested in promoting the goals and objectives of NABA. We are also expanding our outreach through the following:

Community Service 
Holding true to NABA's motto of "Lifting As We Climb," community service is a vital component of NABA Greater Indianapolis' success. Our chapter's objective is: (1) to provide outreach to the community through grassroots efforts and partnering with other community based organizations; (2) to increase attendance and membership participation by both professionals and students at community service events; and (3) to work with NABA sponsors to assist in providing volunteer opportunities for members. Our current volunteer opportunities include:

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

NABA volunteers annually coordinate with the IRS to provide Income Tax preparation assistance to local community members of need. NABA set’s criteria to assist those with incomes below $50,000 who may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit but are not aware of the credit. NABA’s volunteers hold weekend sessions from February to April at area libraries to support the local communities. NABA Greater Indianapolis volunteers typically prepares returns at no charge.  Tax assistance is offered at numerous sites in Greater Indianapolis and surrounding areas during tax filing season (generally February 1 through the middle of April). Training begins within the first two weeks of January.
