NABA Boston Events & Programs Details :

NABA Boston Shall host at least 1 (one) event every quarter with the support of corporate and community partners, committee members, directors, and NABA Eboard: 

The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Boston Chapter offers a variety of programs and events aimed at fostering professional development, community engagement, and networking among its members. These initiatives are designed to support individuals at different stages of their careers, from high school students to seasoned professionals.

High School Programs:

• Accounting and Finance Pipeline Initiative (AFPI): This program introduces high school students to careers in accounting and finance, providing guidance and resources to encourage their pursuit of these fields.

• Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP): ACAP is a summer residency program that offers high school students insights into accounting and business careers through workshops, lectures, and networking opportunities.

College-Based Programs:

• Scholarships: NABA Boston provides scholarships to college students pursuing degrees in accounting, finance, and related disciplines, supporting their educational and professional aspirations.

• Leadership Development: Programs aimed at cultivating leadership skills among college students to prepare them for successful careers in business.

• Case Competitions: Opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Mock Interviews and Resume Critique: Services designed to prepare students for the job market by refining their interview techniques and resume presentation.

• Regional NABA Link & National Conferences: An annual event that brings together students for workshops, networking, and career development sessions.

• Additional Events NABA student chapters and NABA Boston can host: Spring and Fall Student Chapter Eboard Meeting (Virtual or Hybrid), NABA National Conference, NABA Office Visits at the big 4 and other companies, NABA Career Readiness, NABA Success Stories, NABA Collaboration with other campus organizations (at least 2 times every semester) 

Professional Development Programs:

• Annual Minority Business Conference (AMBC): A full-day conference featuring a career fair, technical sessions, personal development workshops, and networking opportunities for professionals and students.

• Technical Sessions: CPA bound, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) sessions that provide members with up-to-date technical skills and knowledge in accounting, taxation, and related fields.

• Diversity Quarterly Series: Panel discussions and interactive sessions addressing diversity-related topics, such as unconscious biases and cultural integration in the workplace.

Career and Personal Development Initiatives:

• NABA Career Services: Programs aimed at supporting members in identifying career opportunities and developing necessary skills to achieve their professional goals.

• Mentoring and Coaching: Initiatives that connect members with mentors and coaches to guide their career progression and personal development.

• Mix and Mingle: Social events that facilitate networking and relationship-building among members in a relaxed atmosphere.

• Women of NABA: Programs addressing issues specific to women members, offering guidance, inspiration, and problem-solving strategies through professional and social sessions.

• Ebony Winter Gala: An annual premier event bringing together members and friends of NABA to celebrate achievements and foster community spirit.
