ACAP
Are you a high school student or do you know any high school students who are interested in pursuing academic studies in Accounting, Finance or a business related field when they begin college? If so, ACAP is just the right program to help you make that career decision! We invite you to read further to learn more about ACAP and how you can apply to participate in the program.
What is ACAP?
ACAP is a trademark program owned by the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. and is currently held in 18 of the major cities across the country. ACAP is a 6-day summer residency program where students reside overnight (under direct supervision) on a college or university campus to attend technical sessions and panel discussions to learn about college majors and careers in accounting and finance. ACAP was formed after NABA recognized that there was a low percentage of African Americans pursuing college degrees in Accounting and working in the profession. NABA realized there was a need for a program that could be used to increase awareness of the profession.
The History of NABA Detroit - ACAP
NABA Detroit - ACAP program began in 2001 and has been held on University of Detroit Mercy (2001-2003), Oakland University (2004-2005) and Wayne State University (since 2006) campuses. ACAP is a selective program and students must meet certain requirements to be eligible to apply for the program. Students who are selected to attend ACAP will receive notification from the ACAP Selection Committee.
