Bio

My name is Felicity Morris. I reside in Virginia where I was born and raised. I am a graduate of William & Mary, where I received my Bachelor of Administration degree in Finance in 2011. I then went on to earn my Master of Science in Accounting from Liberty University in 2014. I began my accounting career as a Tax Associate at KPMG in 2014 and was promoted to Senior Tax Associate in 2017. In February of 2019, I resigned from KPMG to focus on my family. But I decided to return to public accounting as a Tax Supervisor with Yount, Hyde & Barbour in 2020 and has since been promoted to Tax Manager in the Richmond office in 2022.

My role at YHB consists of overall coordination and management of assigned tax compliance engagements. Through organization, planning, to execution, I ensure that engagements are properly completed and supervised and that all workpapers have been properly reviewed before the release of returns to the client and respective tax agencies. I also contribute to the satisfaction of current clients and implement business development and marketing strategies that align with YHB’s strategic initiatives.  In addition to client activities, I perform critical activities related to tax compliance processes, talent development, and firm administration.

In 2022, I obtained my Enrolled Agent (EA) certification. I also serve as Vice Chair of the Richard Bland College Foundation Board. I am the founder and President of YHB’s first affinity group, NOBA (Network of Black Accountants). This summer, I also spoke at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Accounting Professionals Bootcamp, where I highlighted essential skills needed to be successful in the workplace.

My experience with NABA started back in 2016 when I was employed with KPMG. I was heavily involved in DEI programs and initiatives such as the AAN (African American Network), recruiting diverse candidates, planning and facilitating DEI events and workshops, and attending my very first NABA convention in New Orleans in 2017. Since this convention I have been involved with growing and developing professionals in the accounting arena. YHB sponsored two NOBA members (myself included) to attend the 2021 NABA Convention in Hollywood, FL where I obtained a lot of useful tools that I have been able to apply in my professional career at YHB. I was able to connect YHB with the local Richmond NABA Chapter where YHB is now a Silver Partner in the Chapter’s Corporate Partnership Program.

Overall, I am organized, driven, dedicated, experienced and a proven accounting professional who is innovative and identifies new ways to help improve and develop processes to meet the strategic goals of the firm. With over 6 plus years of experience working in public accounting, I have learned that taking a wholistic approach to success involves the success of every component of business operations. I am a firm believer that what makes a business successful is that everyone in the business has the tools that they need to meet the needs and address the concerns of its clients. My passion is to continue to identify areas of focus, provide solutions, implement, and empower others to tap into their potential to help drive success. Outside of work, I have three beautiful children with my husband of over 10 years. I love outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and traveling to new places and experiencing the beauty of creation, great food, and connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
