About NABA Chicago
NABA Chicago was established in 1977 when John E. Adams, CPA—then a young staff auditor—saw a need to provide opportunities for Blacks in the field of accounting and finance. Inspired by a feature in Black Enterprise Magazine, Adams became the first Chicago chapter president and laid the foundation to empowering Black leaders in business within the Chicagoland area.
Over 40 years later, NABA Chicago continues to build on that legacy by positioning its diverse members for success across a variety of business disciplines. Through leadership training and professional development opportunities, the chapter equips members with the tools to stand out in the marketplace. Additionally, NABA Chicago partners with corporations to foster diverse work environments, demonstrating a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) while helping attract and retain top diverse talent.
